The learning outcomes for this course are:
Knowledge
Each participant will be able to:
- Discuss normal gait biomechanics and motor control.
- Debate gait assessment options and treatment in relation to the WHO's ICF model of health.
- Analyse and clinically reason gait analysis outcomes to develop appropriate treatment interventions.
- Critically evaluate the strengths, weaknesses and psychometric properties of a variety of gait assessment tools.
Skills
Each participant will be able to:
- Appropriately perform a systematic observational gait analysis.
- Demonstrate use of a two dimensional computer based gait analysis.
Attitudes
Each participant will be able to:
- Value the use of quantitative measures in everyday clinical practice.
- Respond positively to new technologies in gait analysis.
